Your support IS making a difference to female aviators.
**Please note that you must be a member of FAST to apply**
The Citation-In-Flight Scholarship is being sponsored this year by the generosity of LOFT Advanced Flight Training in Carlsbad, California. They are awarding six CE500 or CE525 Initial or Recurrent Simulator Training to FAST members in hopes to provide more opportunities for them at a pivotal point in their flying. This very marketable type rating will help jumpstart the recipient’s careers in charter or corporate aviation. Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen, hold at least an FAA Commercial Multi-Engine Pilot License with Instrument Rating and have at least 1,500 hours of flight time (or reduced ATP minimums, if applicable) or already possess their ATP or R-ATP certificate. The scholarship winners are responsible for all travel and lodging expenses. It is valued at $12,675 for an Initial and $6,750 for recurrent.
The Continuing-In-Flight Scholarship will be awarded to two FAST members who are currently working on an additional rating or certificate. The recipients will each receive $1,250 which will be paid to an accredited flight training school of their choosing. This scholarship is being sponsored this year by Allison Fohr who has been raising money for FAST by selling military patches she made. These patches were inspired by USAF Undergraduate Pilot Training class 77-08.
The Back-In-Flight Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship that will be awarded to two FAST members who had to put a hold on their career due to unforeseen circumstances. They are now ready and cleared to return to the air once again. This scholarship is being sponsored this year by an anonymous FAST member. The recipients will each receive $1,000 paid directly to an accredited flight training school of their choosing.
Multi-Engine Add-On-In-Flight Scholarship:
The Multi-Engine Add-On-In-Flight Scholarship is an accelerated Commercial Multi-Engine Add-On rating scholarship in a Piper Twin Comanche and includes $2,200 toward travel & lodging expenses. This scholarship will be awarded to a FAST member in order to help her reach her goals faster, with less distractions and financial burden. The sponsors for this scholarship are Endre Holen and FAST member Stephanie Goetz. Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen and possess an FAA Commercial Pilot License. Training will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada or St. Paul, Minnesota and is valued at $8,200.
Prep for Success-In-Flight Scholarship:
The Prep for Success-In-Flight Scholarship will be awarded to two FAST members who are established in their career but ready to pursue their dream job. The recipients will receive four hours of one on one interview prep to make sure they are confidently tracking the right course. This scholarship is being sponsored by our Guest Speakers- Raven Careers and Professional Pilot Career Coach/FAST member Lynsey Howell. The Scholarship Committee will notify winners of which company will conduct their interview prep based on who they think will be the best fit. This scholarship is valued at $800 each.
Mommy’s Going Back-In-Flight Scholarship:
The Mommy’s Going Back-In-Flight Scholarship will be awarded to a FAST member who put a hold on her career to raise a family and has been longing to return to the flight deck for quite some time but needs a little FAST support. The recipient will receive $1,000 paid directly to an accredited flight training school of her choosing. This scholarship is being paid for by the generous donations of our FAST members.
The Discover-In-Flight Scholarship will provide a Discovery Flight to a FAST female friend or family member of any age who has a desire to take to the sky. The recipient’s nominee will receive $200 paid directly to an accredited flight training school of her choosing. This scholarship is being sponsored this year by Martina De Coster Hunova with AVIAtest.
FAST isn’t one person… it isn’t one entity. FAST is comprised of thousands of women who are all tied together by a common passion… the love of flying. Within that, our members have all had their own personal setbacks. The number 1 setback being…. Money! There’s no way around it…. flying is EXPENSIVE! Whether our member is working on her ratings or just trying to get back in the air after a leave of absence, fuel and instructor costs are not cheap. We recognize the financial burdens that our members face on a daily basis and made the decision to start trying to raise funds to help our members in need. Last year alone we awarded $19,000 in scholarships. With the continued support of our sponsors and the generous donations of our members we hope to continue to offer funds and various scholarship opportunities each Spring. Fundraising events such as FASTgiving in June and Giving Tuesday in December are two occasions within the year that our members can help another member in achieving her goals.
FAST has given away $145,000 in scholarships for female pilots since our founding in 2015!
Please remember that FAST is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization so all donations are tax deductible. Should you like to make a contribution at this time please visit our donation page.
